Savoir-faire

Founded on the quest for the finest raw materials since 1924, the Maison has built a legacy of transforming natural fibres into garments designed to last a lifetime. A unique mastery that is passed on across generations, empowering people and nurturing traditions. For 100 years, Loro Piana’s savoir-faire has been part of the Maison’s identity, synonymous with a dedication to quality and a respect for nature and people.

Loro Piana preserves, develops, and transmits its unique Made in Italy craftsmanship that builds the Maison’s excellence every day, encompassing more than 50 métiers covering the entire production process through internal schools in textile, knitwear, ready-to-wear, leather goods, and shoes, thereby passing its know-how on to young generations.

Loro Piana strives to advance transparency and accountability across its value chain, continuously strengthening its standards, controls, and audit activities. Excellence and responsibility are never static; they are the result of a constant, collaborative effort and a shared path of improvement with all internal and external stakeholders.

As part of this commitment, the adherence to Loro Piana’s Code of Ethics and Supplier Code of Conduct, available here, which requires full compliance with all applicable laws and ethical standards, is an essential prerequisite for initiating and maintaining any commercial relationship with the Maison.

Loro Piana has also adopted an Organisation, Management and Control Model pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001 (Model 231), available here.

The Maison is committed to selecting, assessing, and regularly monitoring its suppliers and sub-suppliers to reduce the risk of non-compliance across its value chain. All suppliers are subject to periodic audits, both documentary and on-site, including unannounced visits when appropriate.

In line with this approach, Loro Piana conducts annual independent third-party audits covering environmental, social, and governance criteria. The House requires corrective actions within a defined timeframe in case of a supplier breach in terms of ethical or legal standards. In the event of serious or persistent violations, the company may terminate the business relationship.
